The 2025 Lucid Gravity – An EV that Defies Expectations

Lucid’s EV journey started with the 2021 Air sedan, a debut electric car renowned for its 500-mile range and generous space. Since then, the carmaker has continued to grace the EV space with different models of the beautiful car. The new Gravity is evidence that Lucid has EV production already figured out. It’s stylish, bigger, and more comfortable, with lots of high-performance tech.

Unveiled at the November 2023 Los Angeles auto show, Gravity shares many qualities with the Lucid Air, including a luxury design and spacious interior (wait till you hear it rides on the same C1 platform). But beyond the obvious similarities, the latest Lucid addition boasts quality engineering and improved efficiency – better than most popular names in the three-row EVs segment. Here’s what excites us about the 2025 Lucid Gravity!

A Sleek, Sophisticated Silhouette

Is it a Lucid auto if it’s not stunning? With the latest model, Lucid establishes itself as a producer of attractive EVs with iconic designs. Gravity sports a futuristic front fascia marked by distinctive full-width LED light bars, a feature that’s now become Lucid’s signature style. Its side profile is beautified by 20 to 23-inch wheels and classic lines accentuating the chiseled wagon-like outlook.

Gravity rides low with a drag coefficient of 0.24, but make no mistake, with a height of 65.2 inches and a long wheelbase (119.5 inches), the EV does not lack comfort space. There are similarly full-width lights at the rear, a rear roof spoiler, and up to 6 dark and bright hue combos to complete the aesthetic. Where most EV brands get polarizing feedback regarding appearance (Tesla, is that you?), the Lucid Gravity is a stunner by all standards.

Three Rows of Comfort

The Gravity cabin feels rich and uncluttered, with enough space to seat seven adults. Owners can choose from two rows with five seats, three rows with captain’s chairs for six passengers, and the ultimate three rows with second-row bench seats, all with sufficient headroom and legroom even for tall occupants. Second and third-row seats are foldable to produce a cargo well of about 122 cubic ft., and there’s extra space in the frunk, enough to sit two people at a mini picnic.

Let’s talk luxury. Gravity boasts a floating 34-inch digital display and a second 12.6-inch dashboard beside the squircular (flat top and bottom) steering wheel. Customizable ambient lights, a 22-speaker sound system, sliding second-row tables, and customizable climate zones further contribute to the luxurious feel. Also new for Gravity is the cupholder, which is covered with glass, and underneath it is an added storage area.

Improved Infotainment and Smartphone Connectivity

The infotainment system on Gravity offers easier access and more convenience than the Lucid Air setup. Below the infotainment screen is a lower 12.6-inch screen positioned horizontally for a better view. Besides, the head-on display comes with an augmented reality system for an immersive HD experience. The 2025 Lucid Gravity also has several in-car apps, including the Lucid Mobile App,  for digital connectivity. Owners can activate the optional voice recognition feature for hands-free control. Plus, there are smart charging ports between the first two seats.

Smaller Batteries, More Range

With only half the battery size, Gravity conquers more miles (440) per charge and goes faster (0 – 60 mph in 3.5 seconds) than most competitors, thanks to its advanced tech. Sure, we’ve seen better performance on the Mercedes EQS 450+ (481 miles), but Gravity’s lighter, power-dense, and more sustainable batteries set a new efficiency standard in the industry. In addition, the 2025 Gravity upgrades to dual electric AWD motors (rear-wheel drive is available on select trims), which produce over 800 hp. Like the Air Sedan, chances are the highest Sapphire model will also peak at 1,234 hp.

Gravity Auto-adjust Mode

Gravity’s greatest strength is arguably its engineering excellence, which extends to a set of multi-mode functions. It has a Zero Gravity mode, which auto-adjusts suspension heights for off-road action. We don’t expect Gravity to do as much rock-crawling as Rivian R1S, but this feature boosts its ranking among EVs with the best off-road capability. Besides, its 6000 lbs. towing capacity stands out in a category where many other offerings max at 5,500 lbs. There’s also Lucid Sanctuary, a non-drive mode that engages the screens, lights, and sound system to set the mood for an immersive scenic experience during travel breaks or camping.

Superfast Charging

With its 350kW superfast charger, Gravity adds 220 miles in only 15 minutes. For faster and more convenient charging, Lucid upgraded from the standard J1772 connector to the NACS plug, which provides access to superchargers anywhere. Plus, there is the Connected Home Charging Station designed to keep the Gravity EV powered and ready for every trip.

Enough Tech to Keep You Safe

Lucid Gravity is not just pomp and style; the electric SUV features sophisticated safety tech to protect occupants every mile of the trip. Lane change support, hazard detection, blind spot display, and real-time weather information are standard on all trim levels. The Lucid Halo Secure feature also provides a Surround-View awareness of the environment, while DreamDrive, a smart co-pilot, provides added driving assistance.

Gravity Trims and Prices

Lucid will start the 2025 Gravity trims with the Touring model. Others in the trim lineup are Grand Touring and Sapphire. While there won’t be much to separate trim levels in terms of appearance, the most significant gains are in performance. Lucid says the average power output is 800 hp, but we expect higher models, such as GT and Sapphire, to produce over 1,000 hp. As of the time of writing, specific trim prices are unavailable, but Lucid has confirmed that the new EV will start under $80,000, which puts it somewhere in the category of moderately priced family EVs.

The Gravity Pull

The 2025 Lucid Gravity will launch into a saturated market and hope to contend with established models like Tesla X, Kia EV9, and Volvo EX90. We expect Gravity’s sophisticated tech and usable third row to be strong selling points. And if the Air trims performance is anything to go by, the GT model will be the top favorite for fans of premium experience.
